A very autumnal newsletter this week…
A few weeks back, Nico and visited a cute pumpkin patch, Puur van 't Land about 40 minutes outside Amsterdam. The patch was started by a young Dutch kid, Eli Bosboom, who genuinely enjoys growing pumpkins of all kinds and has won awards for his results. We stocked up on some of their farm fresh fruit, vegetables, and decorative pumpkins. If you live in The Netherlands, they have pumpkin carving the weekend before Halloween, you can check out the details here.
Can you spot the pumpkins?
They also sell seasonal fruit and other vegetables, when we visited plums were in season and there were still some summer squash floating about.
I paint the gourds we use just for decoration with a clear acrylic lacquer to help them last longer and then throw them around the apartment.
The vibe at farmer’s markets these days:
On a totally non-autumn vibe note: I just uploaded another YouTube video with some Bali footage from our trip earlier this year. If you missed my newsletters on that you can check them out here. This is just totally raw, unfiltered footage from Bali, bringing you along the trip with us. I love this kind of video, but I know these days there is a push for quirky, short, loud music and showing your face in videos so I’ll get there, possibly, eventually. For now, enjoy this super mellow, on my level chill travel vlog.
Also - I forget if I mentioned it in my past newsletters but this vlog has some videos from our time spent in Sanur. I was there researching an article for The Ontario Association of Landscape Architects, which you can read here. Shoutout to Lorraine for hooking me up with the gig <3
P.S. any Canadians capturing any foliage photos? Send them my way please! I miss that shit more than I ever thought I would and find myself deep into fallgirl tiktok just to see North American foliage content.
See you next time for a newsletter about my recent move to the suburbs and a guide to the green spaces! Thank you so much for being here and have a great week <3
